Hi there! I'm Todd Hayes, head honcho at Hayes Digital Marketing. I love helping small businesses grow using my decades of experience in the internet world... and I hate talking about myself in the 3rd person.
In today's competitive local search environment, your business needs every advantage it can get.
Local area map and directory "citations" are both important signals to Google that your business is legitimate and worth showing in the search rankings.
Many directory citations are simply foundation building links and mentions, others offer more utility and direct user engagement.
The great news is that adding your business listing to Apple Maps / Siri Search is an easy one for you to do... and BONUS, it only takes a few minutes.
This article will show you how to set up your "Apple Business Connect". It is Apple's version of Google Business Profile and will enhance your visibility across all Apple devices.
Step 1: Read through the 5 steps and then go to https://businessconnect.apple.com/ (the link will open in a new window).
Step 2: Log in with your
Apple ID or, if you're not an Apple user and don't have one, click the link near the bottom (see the green arrow in the image below) to create one. Note, it will likely prompt you with 2 factor authentication and you'll need to enter the 6 digit code sent to your phone.
Step 3: Enter your business name in the search box. If you have an existing business it will most likely pull up at the correct address. If it's not found, follow the prompts to Add a new location.
Step 4: Apple makes it easy, just
fill in the blanks to add as much of your information as it allows. Be sure to upload relevant images of your business location, logos or any business related images.
Be sure to add your address and phone number
exactly as it appears on your Google Business Profile Listing and your website. Keeping your "NAP" Name, Address, and Phone number consistent makes it easier for search engines to verify your information. (See my article on NAP importance here)
Step 5: Profit! Reap the rewards of that sweet extra link juice and broader foundation of citations around the interwebs. Oh, and if you have multiple businesses or multiple locations, you can add those too. Now go get 'em... you're officially on Apple Maps.
